Virgin Mobile to launch gsm services in India

virgin-india-gsmVirgin Mobile, the company which got lot of following partly due to the range of budget phones and due to interesting ads is planning to release GSM services in India. Virgin Mobile the first and only MVNO in India has rubbished earlier reports of it entering in to the GSM market back in 2009 February. The mobile company in 2008 paired up with Tata Tele-services to release a range of CDMA phones which has brought significant success to the company.

Virgin is into GSM mainly because Indian mobile industry market blooming by the day,  and more and more operators want to strengthen its base in India before other big companies enter India.  Virgin Mobile will use Tata DoCoMo’s network for its GSM operations.The sources also mention of possible targeting of south Indian market first and then to other parts of the nation. The official announcement will be made in a week and then you may subscribe to this network.

And what will be the tariff? Expect it to be about 10ps/min :-) or even less.HOPEFULLY
